Landrover. Stage 1. V8 Cherry Picker. 6WD. 137 inch WB. for Restoration
I have owned the vehicle since September 1998, with three previous owners. It was built and registered 1st March 1984 for the first owners, Southern Electric. The cherry picker bit was built by Econ Spencer and as far as I am aware is completely original, taking its power from the land rover standard PTO configuration. There is damage to all body panels and the chassis requires serious welding or replacement to pass an MoT. The chassis has been repaired previously to pass an MoT, all other panels and windows are original. Four or six wheel drive is selectable and has differential locks which appear to be working.
It has not been used on the public highway since early 2000. At about this time the speedometer stuck/broke showing 70899 miles.
All the major components are in working order. Starts and drives but foot & hand brakes are very poor. Cherry picker or to give it its formal name of “2 Man Land Rover Mobile Work Platform” was in use last week with all safety devices working correctly. The un-laden weight of the vehicle as shown by the log book is 4038 kg. The vehicle comes with four spare wheels, two tyres of which are almost brand new the others are part worn but well serviceable.
I have imposed a moderate reserve price to ensure receiving a reasonable return for the vehicle which I still have the very occasional use for. I understand only five were ever made and this is possibly the last one in existence, and therefore very difficult to obtain a comparison value.
Due to the nature of the “Beast” as I call it, I expect the successful bidder would wish to inspect the vehicle prior to completing the purchase. All that would initially be required from the successful bidder is a small deposit which would be refunded at viewing if the sale did not proceed. I have the facility if required to accept payment by most credit and debit cards through my business. This vehicle is however privately owned and has no link whatsoever to my business.
Viewing during the bid period is also possible by prior arrangement.
If required I am also able to arrange appropriate transport anywhere in the UK at an extra cost.
Please feel free to ask any further questions or arrange a viewing
via Email or telephone 07743 985535.
