    Freelander 2 automatic, gear selector move freely without pressing the button

    I bought my car from Premium Cars Rosenheim one month ago and only some days ago i notice i can move the gear selector from D to R
    without pressing the button on the selector.
    I am sure this issue was there when i bought the car but the mentioned dealer told me today it is not covered under Gewährleistung

    I decided to investigate myself, please look at the video i done and let me know what is not correct?

    Hello Dresdner,

    thats the mistake! I have recently changed the knob and I remember, that the white stick was spring loaded. Seems as if there is something broken. I think you should contact the dealer once again! If he is not wiling to repair, contact a lawyer!

        Finally i mange to buy a used schaltkulisse and install it, problem fixed.
        Long story short it looks like when they done the heater recall they removed the gear knob without pressing it and broke the tip of the schaltkulisse.

        You can see the differences in the picture
